Relaxed Cantina with a modern approach to classic dishes from Mexico is seeking an Executive Chef! This role offers great quality of life with it being dinner + brunch on the weekends. 

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Menu development and recipe costing 
  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Maintaining proper ordering and inventory
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Keeping track of new trends in the industry
  • Participate in weekly manager meeting and follow-up on assigned ideas and/or tasks
  • Communicate with vendors regarding ordering, new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues

Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Head ChefExecutive Kitchen Manager, or Exec Chef
  • Astute financial leader able to maintain food and labor costs in a seasonal environment 
  • Some Spanish proficiency required 
  • Passionate and operations oriented
  • Love for quality ingredients
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety this is hugely important
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • California Food Handlers Manager Certification
