Expanding restaurant group with exciting new opening in East LA is seeking an Events and Marketing Manager. This Mexican themed restaurant will serve delicious fresh seafood and unique craft cocktails. The Events and Marketing Manager will be responsible for all events and functions and all strategic marketing initiatives for the organization. This person will oversee both concepts also and help with pop-ups and pushing the brand forward. Candidate must be experienced with LA contacts and liaise and operate all events. The team is open to a hybrid remote function of this role.

 

Events & Marketing Manager Responsibilities:

  • Drive event sales and business throughout the year
  • Event coordination, inclusive of all administrative aspects such as customer communication, scheduling events, menu building, organizing venue run sheets, CRM/database management, email management and taking payments.
  • Liaising with external vendors for event details
  • Liaising with all duty managers, venue managers, cleaning, and maintenance staff for event preparation details when necessary
  • Handling and resolving customer issues and complaints appropriately
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service to all members, patrons, and visitors
  • Creating invoices, handling cash and card payments
  • Training casual event employees
  • Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts
  • Handling budgeting and invoicing
  • Managing branding and communication for events
  • Negotiating sponsorship deals
  • Contributes to the development of a highly effective team by participating in and contributing to team meetings, strategic and corporate planning meetings, team-work plans and relevant cross unit working groups
  • Responsible at all times for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all
  • Suggest innovative and creative event & content ideas to help grow the brand
  • Provide detailed reports of marketing activities, including return-on- investment analysis and engagement

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years as an Event Manager, Catering Manager, Event Supervisor, Catering Sales Manager, or comparable hospitality management role in an upscale, preferably chef-driven concept
  • Previous event sales experience required
  • Solid understanding of event revenue generation
  • Proven track record of sales performance along with marketing/prospecting programs that drive event revenue
  • Proven ability in leadership, communication, and negotiating skills
  • Passion for food and beverage
  • Commitment to providing excellent service to guests and support to staff members
  • Organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and Excel
  • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with FOH and BOH team, clientele, and vendors
  • Knowledge of basic safety, health, and sanitation standards
  • Positive attitude
  • Flexible schedule to support the needs of the business
