Los Angeles-based independent restaurant group with Italian concepts is bringing on board a Director of Culinary to improve systems, focus on operations, and keep the menu relevant and fresh. The group prides itself on an amazing company culture, with many long tenured employees. They are looking for an individual who values building connections not only with guests, but their own internal team as well.

Director of Culinary Responsibilities:

  • Improve systems to help streamline operations
  • Focus on operations, but also assist with menu development for specials, holidays, and bids for events
  • Budget planning, forecast, and overall P&L responsibility for BOH operations
  • Fostering a strong sense of morale amongst the Head Chefs
  • Lead training, mentorship, and hiring efforts for culinary
  • Lead food safety & sanitation efforts especially in an evolving landscape¬†

Culinary Director Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience as an Executive Chef with multiunit or high volume oversight or as a Regional Chef, Corporate Chef, or Culinary Director
  • Multiunit is not required, but Italian cuisine exposure is
  • Based in Los Angeles proper (local candidates only)
  • Have reliable transportation to travel between the locations
  • Experience in food & beverage business development and operations
  • Analytical and written communications skills, problem solving and presentation
  • Strong diagnostic, organizational and analytical skills
  • Expert leadership and teaching skills
