World Famous, Chef-Driven Catering Company is seeking a hospitality focused, diverse, passionate Director of Catering. A multi-faceted role consisting of operations, on-site and off-site events, creating and maintaining client and vendor relationships, promoting professional growth within the team.

Director of Catering Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and oversees on-site and off-site catering events
  • Develops and maintains the catering marketing plan including a comprehensive event planning service to clients and detailed menu development
  • Participates in employee meetings, reviews, and training programs
  • Hires, trains, and schedules catering staff, and will be actively involved in the development of existing catering staff in-service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures successful operations of catering functions including labor cost control, foods cost control and preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup of all events
  • Manages in compliance with Company established policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards
  • Plans menu in consultation with chef
  • Responds in a timely manner to customer issues and resolves complaints
  • Maintain effective communication, direction, support, timely feedback and recognition of performance
  • Provides support and coaching to team members to drive high levels of performance, job satisfaction, and personal growth

Director of Catering Qualifications:

  • 6 years of progressive, strong experience with a catering company, events, full service hotel or restaurant
  • Must have strong off-premise special event experience
  • Experience managing a Catering Sales Department team
  • Strong catering sales and event planning experience
  • Experience in accurate forecasting, and preparation of sales plans and financial reports
  • Work with fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.
  • Must be able to create and maintain a team atmosphere within the department and ensure that employees are appropriately trained and have an adequate work load.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office, and Outlook. Delphi experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized and creative
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate
