Beverly Hills Mediterranean Hot Spot is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join the team! The CDC will oversee day-to-day operations as this concept does not have an Executive Chef. The menu features the freshest ingredients ranging from dishes like hummus and marinated feta to puff pastry borekas, Moroccan-spiced carrots, and larger plates like roasted chicken with harissa potatoes, schnitzel, and even a merguez lamb burger. This is a great opportunity for someone to get in with a growing group!

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Ordering, receiving and maintaining food costs
  • Creating prep lists for the staff
  • Overseeing BOH team
  • Large batch cooking and smoking prep
  • Helping out on the line when necessary
  • Maintaining professional standards 
  • Working cleanly, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients 
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and service standards 
  • Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition 
  • Motivating the staff 
  • Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Chef de Cuisine for a minimum of 3 years (Senior or Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager)
  • Vast knowledge of culinary techniques, procedures and equipment 
  • Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude 
  • Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written 
  • Flexible schedule
  • Enforcement of safety/sanitation standards and procedures
  • Food handlers license 
  • Ability to take and give direction
