Creatively imagined Californian-Asian cuisine restaurant is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join the team as their longtime CDC moves on. This person will need to be hard-working, humble, and capable of executing the existing, high-caliber recipes already in place. In time, there would be room for creative collaboration. An amazing opportunity with lots of exciting growth on the horizon for a dedicated chef who hold themselves to the highest standards!

CDC Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of the restaurant
  • Assist in implementing the menus including daily and seasonal specials
  • High-level execution is required
  • Supervise and train the staff on recipes and methods of cooking
  • Expedite service efficiently and effectively, maintaining the proper pace and food quality
  • Maintain company expectations of food and service through the supervision of the entire kitchen team
  • Fill in where needed to ensure that the guest experience is never compromised, and their expectation of food and service are met and/or exceeded
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests

CDC Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or CDC for a minimum of 2 years
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of pan-Asian cuisine is required
  • A love for high-caliber food and hospitality
  • Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude 
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Experience with, expediting, ordering, inventory management, recipe costing, corrective action and staff training
  • Enforcement of safety/sanitation standards and procedures
  • Food handlers license 
  • Ability to take and give direction
