Extremely successful and busy West L.A. Chef and restaurateur is opening a new venue and looking for a talented Assistant General Manager to join and curate the team. The menu will be a modern-day pizzeria with everything made in house using only the best and freshest local ingredients. The environment is very fast paced and requires someone who can think on his/her feet and adapt easily to the dynamic needs of a multi-faceted business. Counter service will be provided for lunch and full-service for dinner. This role will start training at an established location and then move to the new opening with the likelihood of moving into the GM role.

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Solve any guest issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements

Assistant General Manager Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience as Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM) or 3+ years as a Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager in an upscale, chef-driven establishment
  • Understanding of the Los Angeles restaurant scene is ideal
  • Strong leader and motivator to the staff and management
  • A lead by example approach

  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for food and beverage
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • Food safety certification
