Sales Development Representative – Boutique Events Group Los Angeles CA
Salary: $75000 – $85000
Growing high-end catering & events company is looking for an energetic and ambitious Sales Development Representative to join their team. This role will be instrumental in generating and qualifying potential new leads through extensive phone outreach, and working to establish relationships with former prospects to revive interest in the brand. The ideal candidate is highly goal-oriented with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to establish a strong rapport with high-end clientele. Someone with a vivacious personality and a keen sense of how to positively influence people is critical! Candidates should have some prior experience using CRM systems for lead management/sales activity tracking. Having a strong book of existing contacts is a big plus, but not absolutely required. This is a flexible role that can be based in the corporate office, hybrid, or fully remote as long as performance targets are being met. Responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and pursue new client relationships and business opportunities through strategic phone outreach and introductions
- Generate and secure new leads across the company’s various service streams
- Conducting cold calls to prospects and initiating contact with prospects who haven’t previously shown interest
- Assessing prospects based on their interest, needs, budget, authority, and timeline in order to qualify them for follow-up by senior sales representatives
- Collecting pertinent information about potential leads’ company, industry, and individual needs to refine sales approach
- Utilizing company CRM systems to maintain accurate records of all calls, interactions, and prospect details
- Following up diligently on leads and inquiries even after an unsuccessful initial contact
- Keeping abreast of market trends, customer needs, and overall sales performance and providing feedback to the team
- Develop and implement strategies for driving sales
- Networking internally and externally to obtain leads and build relationships with new and existing clients
- Handling high-touch customer service and client scenarios
- Continuously thinking outside the box to formulate new strategies to generate sales
- Manage all outreach with consistent communication to establish and maintain valuable relationships
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and efficient work environment for other team members in line with company culture and values
- Maximize revenue through expert promotion and relatability
- Understands the Los Angeles market – competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
Candidate Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant client-facing sales experience in the hospitality (restaurant, hotel, events/catering) industry (i.e. Sales Manager, Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative, Outside Sales Manager, Event Sales Manager, Catering Sales Manager, or comparable business development/sales role)
- Adept at networking, selling, and interacting with diverse groups of people including high-end clientele
- Proven track record of sales performance along with marketing/prospecting programs that drive new business
- Proven ability in leadership, communication, and negotiating skills
- Highly polished and outgoing personality
- Strong persuasion skills and ability to encourage prospects to advance in the sales process
- Goal-oriented with a drive to meet and exceed sales targets and quotas
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, and establish rapport over the phone
- Astute organizational skills, professionalism, and flexibility
- Diligent and persistent, able to roll with the punches and remain positive and motivated despite facing rejections
- Experience using CRM systems for lead management and sales activity tracking
- Strong understanding of lead generation and qualification principles, and various sales strategies
- Creative selling ability to close on new business and negotiate accounts
- Understands how to get things done by leveraging opportunities against multiple resources
Compensation Package Includes:
- Base Salary in the $75-85k range DOE + Commission
